Ecomusée d'Alsace
The largest open-air museum in France, the Écomusée d'Alsace is a real Christmas village! With its 80 buildings representative of rural Alsace, immerse yourself in a magical world at the heart of Christmas traditions, from 3 December to 7 January.
Push open the doors of the houses to discover a world of old toys, craft workshops and twinkling lights. Make decorations for the tree, taste winter specialities, watch the opening of the Advent calendar windows and listen to Christmas tales.
On Sunday 3 December, dressed in his finest costume, St Nicholas arrives in the village accompanied by his halberdiers and musicians. As night falls, enjoy a delicious snack in his company.
On 9, 16, 23, 26, 27, 29 and 30 December, enjoy 7 enchanted evenings. As twilight settles over the village, immerse yourself in the magic of Alsatian legends. Volunteers from the Écomusée d'Alsace put on a real live show right in the heart of the village. A bilingual show in French and Alsatian for all the family, never seen before in the region!
Celebrate Epiphany on 7 January 2024 at the Écomusée d'Alace and take part in the procession of little kings who will sing from house to house. Then, at nightfall, meet the Three Wise Men, Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspard, who have come to discover the Christ Child and offer him gifts.
Take advantage of your visit to the museum during these events to take part in the many activities planned throughout the day.
