Ecomusée d'Alsace

The largest open-air museum in France, the Écomusée d'Alsace is a veritable Christmas village! With its 80 buildings representative of rural Alsace, immerse yourself in a magical world at the heart of Christmas traditions, from 6 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Step inside the houses to discover different worlds of antique toys, craft workshops and twinkling lights. Make decorations for the Christmas tree, taste winter specialities, watch the Advent calendar windows being opened and listen to Christmas stories.

From 6 December to 4 January, discover Christmas traditions in France's largest open-air museum. Venture to the Écomusée d'Alsace, where the beauty of the houses immerses you in the Alsatian customs of yesteryear. Take part in the many daily activities, go for a tractor ride, taste the famous Alsatian ‘bredeles’, meet the emblematic characters of winter... And feel the magic and warmth of an authentic Christmas.

Dressed in his finest costume, Saint Nicholas arrives in the village on Sunday 7 December, accompanied by his halberdiers and musicians. At nightfall, share a delicious snack with him. Take advantage of your visit to the museum to participate in the many activities planned throughout the day.

7 December 2025 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saint Nicholas arrives at 4 p.m.

Celebrate Epiphany on 4 January 2026 at the Écomusée d'Alsace and take part in the procession of little kings who will sing from house to house. Then, at nightfall, meet the Three Wise Men, Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspard, who have come to discover the baby Jesus and offer him gifts.
